GAY ANIMALS ARE FUN!

It's nothing new. There have been studies on homosexual behavior in the animal world for quite some time, but reseachers are learning more and more about human behavior in terms of what is "natural" through the study of animals. The New York Times writes:
"Various forms of same-sex sexual activity have been recorded in more than 450 different species of animals by now, from flamingos to bison to beetles to guppies to warthogs. A female koala might force another female against a tree and mount her (see here and here), while throwing back her head and releasing what one scientist described as 'exhalated belchlike sounds.' Male Amazon River dolphins have been known to penetrate each other in the blowhole."

Ha. They said "blowhole". It'll be interesting to see where this research leads and what it can teach us about the nature of animals and ourselves. I wonder, do people think animals choose to be gay? Doubtful. It's in their nature. It's human nature too. See the connection? [source and image]

ANNA FARIS STARS IN REMAKE OF PRIVATE BENJAMIN

Goldie Hawn must feel 1,000 years old! Yet another of her classic comedies is getting the remake treatment. First we have J. Lo in the remake of Overboard, which I am NOT on board for at all, then comes news of something with a little more potential: Anna Faris in Private Benjamin. This could be good. Firstshowing.net is reporting that Faris will take on the role originated by Hawn in the 1980s comedy about spoiled girl who joins the army after her husband croaks on their wedding night. Hawn and the screenplay were nominated for Oscars the first time around. Can they recreate that magic? Well, they are changing it up a bit, bringing it up to present time and involving the current war. There will be lots of caution not to poke fun at the military or politics, but it will be more of a fish-out-of-water type story. Why take out the political humor? Now is the perfect time to make fun of a senseless war. Not the soldiers, but the war for sure!!! Well, good luck, Anna and company. You have a lot to live up to. [image]

Come to the launch party and sneak peek screening for Red Carpet Run tonight at Bartini. As I mention before, this is a new trivia game show that is all about entertainment with a twist. Well, it wouldn't surprise me. His Olympic outfit made RuPaul look like a lumberjack. Johnny Weir was recently on Chelsea Lately and, among other things, let people know that he and the Olympic champion did not get along that well. DETAILS ON THE GLEE/GAGA COLLABORATIO!!!

Glee has caught Lady Gaga fever, and vice versa it seems. EW.com has some details on the upcoming collaboration between Gaga and Glee. There are two songs that the kids will be singing on an upcoming episode: Poker Face and Bad Romance. YEAH!!!! GleeGa!!! Creator Ryan Murphy says, “Leah (Michele) does a very stripped-down version of ‘Poker Face.’” Oooh, Rachel belting out a little PF sounds amazy!! As for Bad Romance, well, the kids are going all out for this one. There will be Gaga-esque costuming involved. Leah Michele adds, “I do know that we’re all different Lady Gagas, and at one point I am the Kermit the Frog Lady Gaga,” referring to this crazy ensemble worn by the pop star. “I saw a picture of the Kermit the Frog Lady Gaga with a Post-It on it that said ‘Leah.’ I was like, oh, great. Everyone else has incredible Lady Gaga outfits and I have that one." Awesome. I know that the kids will tear these songs UP!! I hope they put Mercedes in something crazy. Don't you think Gaga should make an appearance??

WANNA AUDITION FOR GLEE? HERE'S YOUR CHANCE

Yes. You could be the next singing sensation on the hit Fox show Glee and all it takes is a computer! EW.com reveals that the producers of the show are beginning a nationwide casting call for...
"... performers between the ages of 16 and 26 to be featured in season two of Fox’s hit series. Beginning today, those interested can go to this MySpace page and upload audition videos through April 26. The videos should explain why you want to be on Glee and feature a performance of one of Glee’s hit tracks, like “True Colors,” “You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” and “Lean on Me.” Performances can either be a cappella or with a single instrument via My Space karaoke. Videos should be only five minutes in length (one-minute intro, four-minute performance) and are limited to one per person."
How exciting and fun!! I mean, the chances are slim to none they are even looking at the videos. It's probably mostly for publicity, but you could submit the video to myspace and maybe someone else will see it and discover you and you could become the next internet sensation...... or joke. ZACHARY QUINTO AND ANDY SAMBERG ADDED TO CAST OF "WHAT'S YOUR NUMBER"

What's Your Number already boasts stars Anna Farris and Chris Evans (yum) and now their popcorn bag runneth over (cuz it's a movie. get it? shutever). EW reports that SNL funnyman Andy Samberg and major hot hot hottie Zachary Quinto from Star Trek have been added to the cast. According to firstshowing.net "the story focuses on a woman (Faris) who re-visits her ex-boyfriends in the hopes of finding the man of her dreams with the help of her womanizing next door neighbor (Evans). Samberg and Quinto will play two of the men she revisits in her quest to find love." Great cast! I love Andy and Anna and Chris is hot, but Zachary Quinto is soooo freakin' cute I don't know what to do with myself. I mean, c'mon! Look at that face!! He even rocked those Spock ears for gay's sake! Put him in all movies!!!

RUPAUL'S DRAG RACE CUTS MY FAVE QUEEN

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!! Do not keep reading if you have not seen last night's RuPaul's Drag Race. This is going to have spoilers like crazy!! Last night's episode had all the queen's paired up with an old man who they had to turn into their "drag mother". It turned out to be one of the best shows they've done!! Not only were some of the senior-queens hilarious and lovable, they also all fought for gay rights in the days when it was hard for a man to be out. They didn't get too much into the stories of each man, but we go tidbits from them. The results varied as far as the performances went, but I was S-H-O-C-K-E-D when my fave queen, Pandora Boxx was cut from the show. Her drag mother, Litter Boxx (hilarious), did a great job and they were funny. I hate that she is gone, but the show must go on. She will be missed. Raven won the challenge this episode, have to literally shave her "mother's" entire body in the process, and it seems they are softening up her image. I wonder if she is going for the win? Christina Aguilera is getting all wound up and ready to unleash some new music. Her new album, Bionic, is due June 8th, but tonight Christina is exclusively playing it's first single, Not Myself Tonight, in it's entirety on her A.P.E. Radio station. She posted this on her website:

"Multi-platinum, five-time GRAMMY-winning artist Christina Aguilera is making history on the virtual airwaves once again, as the singer prepares to debut brand new music from her highly anticipated album, Bionic, exclusively on her A.P.E. ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PRODUCTION OF SCARFACE NOT REAL

Well, it's real, but it wasn't a school play. The whole thing was put together by Marc Klasfeld of Rockhard Films, who did Lady Gaga's Poker Face video. The kids were found through a casting agent and the audience were friends, cast members' family and and collegues of the director. It's still "fudging" hilarious though. Watch below. [source]

WE ALL NEED TO GET OFF OUR HIGH HORSE AND SUPPORT RICKY MARTIN

People, Ricky Martin came out. He is a pop star. If you think for one second that the fact that he didn't come out in the middle of his highest career point in North America makes this less important, then you are sorely mistaken. Ricky Martin is still selling millions of records around the world. Just because someone isn't selling like they used to in the U.S. doesn't mean they are not famous and a major force in the music industry elsewhere. Not to mention the fact that Ricky is a Latin pop star, which makes it even harder for him to come out. The United States, as a whole, sometimes tends to think our little bubble of pop culture is all that is happening in the world. Remember there is a big wide world of people and cultures out there that we need to recognize. What Ricky Martin has done is brave and should not be criticized because some individuals don't like the timing. I would imagine most of you would be just as cautious if you were famous and you income and career were on the line. Just celebrate his bravery and lay off the bitchiness. Or maybe you're just jealous because he's competition now! Ha. Send him your love. As it says in the wise words of one of his songs, "up in the Himalayas, c'mon I wanna lay ya." Well said, Ricky. I was lucky enough to participate in a brand new, exciting, entertainment trivia game show called Red Carpet Run! The show is like an amazy, showbiz version of Jeopardy, but with a special twist at the end. As it says on the website "Hollywood trivia meets a moving treadmill". RICKY MARTIN COMES OUT!!!

Ricky Martin has refused for years to discuss his sexuality, but Ricky has come out on his blog. In a post Ricky wrote, ""I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man. I am very blessed to be who I am." Ricky says that the adoption of his two sons in 2008 prompted him to come out and live life as a proud, gay man. He went on, "If someone asked me today, 'Ricky, what are you afraid of?' I would answer "the blood that runs through the streets of countries at war...child slavery, terrorism...the cynicism of some people in positions of power, the misinterpretation of faith. But fear of my truth? Not at all! On the contrary, It fills me with strength and courage. This is just what I need especially now that I am the father of two beautiful boys that are so full of light and who with their outlook teach me new things every day." Amazy! Ricky certainly has every right to keep his personal life personal, but to come out helps the gay community as a whole and is certainly a very brave thing to do. Congrats, Ricky. ACTRESS AND THEATRE LEGEND JUNE HAVOC DIES

June Havoc may not spring out at everyone as a theatre legend, but in her own way, she is. Aside from her lifelong work, June is the ACTUAL Dainty June from the legendary musical Gypsy and sister of Gypsy Rose Lee. Havoc passed away at the age of 97 of natural causes. Havoc, though never as famous or infamous as her sister, had a long and varied career that stretched all the way back to 1918!!! She began at 6 as a vaudeville star, eloped at 13 with a boy from their act, had a baby, divorced, danced on Broadway and in movies. she had features roles in 26 films and more than a dozen Broadway shows. June Havoc will certainly live on in the theatre forever. R.I.P., June. [source][image]

MORE CASTING NEWS ON MADONNA'S FILM "W.E."

Looks like another role has been filled in the upcoming directorial project Madonna has been working on, W.E. This time a little nepotism is involved. There is a small role that will be played by none other than Lourdes, Madge's 13-year-old look-alike daughter. Madonna apparently has come around to the idea of Lola taking some of the spotlight. It's reported that Lourdes was offered a part in the Harry Potter films, but Madonna said no. The Sun newspaper reports, “Madonna arranged for a small role for Lourdes. It's not a significant role but it's a taste of the business.” Looks like another generation is ready to rule. Madonna isn't going to hand over that crown anytime soon though. [source]

ADAM LAMBERT TO RELEASE REMIX EP IN APRIL

Adam Lambert, the American Idol runner-up, dropped his debut cd, For Your Entertainment, six months ago and is now planning on releasing a remix EP of songs from that effort. Recently on UStream, Adam revealed to fans, "The remix EP ... is coming out around the 14th of April, that has 'Voodoo' on it and remixes of 'Whataya Want From Me' and 'For Your Entertainment.' " He indicates that Voodoo will be released as a single and then If I Had You will follow, although he indicated before that the video for If I Had You was next, so who knows. I can't for the life of me figure out why his record label would not release Fever, written by Lady Gaga. I mean, doesn't that seem like a no-brainer? Is it just me, people? Ha. Adam's music is pretty good and he deserves some recognition, so maybe a remix album will boost his sales. [source][image]

COULD ROSS BEEEE ANY MADDER AT RACHEL???

Apparently two former "Friends" are not on good terms these days. David Schwimmer was allegedly left red-faces after Jennifer Aniston admitted on Letterman that she had no idea who he was marrying. Schwimmer has been with his fiancé, Zoe Buckman, for two years. The former TV couple are apparently not speaking over the incident. A source tells Britain's Mail, "David was not impressed that one of his supposed friends didn't know who he was marrying. He has been with Zoe for a couple of years and was offended Jen couldn't remember her. He hasn't been taking her calls." To be fair, THEY WERE ON A BREAK!!! Ha. Remember that? I love Friends. REVIEW: THE RUNAWAYS

Okay. As you know I have been waiting to see this movie FOREVER!! Since they previews first started showing I have been excited. I L-O-V-E Joan Jett and the story of The Runaways, an all teenage girl band that unknowingly broke barriers for generations of female rockers after them, has always intrigued me. Well The Runaways tells that story with Dakota Fanning as the 15-year-old (which she really is) wide-eyed innocent Cherie Currie, the Bowie-esque lead singer of the band, and Kristen Stewart as the hard-rockin', hard partyin' Joan Jett. These two are the focus of the film and the story leaving the other members of the band, Sandy West (Stella Maeve) Lita Ford (Scout Taylor-Compton) Robin (Alia Shawkat) and Cherie's twin sister Marie, played by Riley Keough (who happens to be the daughter of Lisa Marie Presley, granddaughter of Elvis) to fill in the spaces. Kim Fowley, played by Michael Shannon, was an apparently scummy manager of several 70s music legends like Kiss and Helen Reddy, but he first helped put together, with Joan, The Runaways. Finding the girls on the Sunset Strip at rock clubs and introducing them to one another, Kim wanted to shock the world with the teenage lust of girls doing crotch-rock, but was pleasantly surprised when these little girls could actually PLAY! Shannon is an excellent actor, nominated for an Oscar for supporting actor for Revolutionary Road, but he is given little more to do than scream and hurl vulgarities at the girls. It pains me to admit that Kristen Stewart was actually not that bad in this movie. By giving her someone to imitate, the incomparable Joan Jett, it seemed to free her of her bad habits and otherwise dreadful acting that plagues all her other movies. This film really belongs to Dakota Fanning though. At the ripe ol’ age of 15, Fanning gives a nuanced performance of a young girl caught up in the hardcore world of rock-n-roll, drugs, sex and despair. Fanning, who I am sure has never done drugs in her life, seems to have done her homework because girl looks messed up in her druggie scenes. The lesbian tryst between Jett and Currie is handled carefully, but not glazed over. The scenes had to be shot in certain ways due to Fanning being underage, but it leaves little to the imagination as to what these girls were doing. UNCOMFORTABLE!! Ha. The film overall seems to skip a lot of what might have been going on with these girls, basically ignoring the other members of the band and the fact that The Runaways never really hit in America, but I would say, as far as rockumentaries go, this one has it’s merits. It’s a good time with good music and good performances. Pretty solid. Check out the soundtrack if you get a chance.

KATY PERRY FINALLY GETS A PIECE OF JUSTIN BIEBER

HA! This is kinda cute. Katy Perry was discussing her upcoming appearance (which has already happened now) at the Kids' Choice Awards and said on her twitter, "also heard Justin Biebers gonna b here 2night, can't wait to tap that". Ha. Well, she hit it alright! Not only did Katy get the traditional "slime" at the awards, she caught up with Justin and posted this photo saying "Told you I would tap that. Yummy." Cute pic, huh?

It was a gay holiday earlier in the week when we celebrated Sarah Jessica Parker's b-day, now another one? When will I have time for all the parties and gift wrapping and putting up the tree? Lady Gaga, aka Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, turns 24 today!!! She has taken over the world in a short amount of time, and I love, love, love her (in case you hadn't noticed). Here is to a great birthday, a great year, a great concert I am attending on July 6th and 100 more years of making amazy music. GAGA FOR PRESIDENT! MOVIE REVIEW: CHLOE

Chloe is a that classic old story: Boy meets girl, girl thinks boy it cheating, girl hires hooker to seduce guy, hooker seduces guy, girl gets jealous, girl sleeps with hooker..... on second thought, the story isn't THAT old. Chloe stars three of the most watchable actors working today, Julianne Moore, Amanda Seyfried and Liam Neeson and is directed by Atom Egoyan. The good thing is that these actors are amazing. I mean Julianne Moore and Amanda Seyfried are allowed to run with every intense emotion involved in the complicated relationship they develop over the course of this film, and they both are so incredibly beautiful, whether smiling or crying, that you can't take your eyes off of them for a second. The weird thing is, after watching the movie, which I was completely entertained by, by the way, I was left wondering exactly what happened after all the enjoyment. It's not at all a bad movie, but the ending (which I will not ruin for anyone) doesn't leave you with much insight into who these characters were or why they acted or interacted with one another in the film. Julianne more is Catherine, a successful gynecologist and mother of a 17-year old son, played by the adorable Max Thieriot, and wife to college professor David, played by Liam Neeson. Through what I wish was a series of events, but is really just one vague clue, Catherine suspects David is cheating on her and asks a prostitute who she only sees from afar out of her office window and has a chance meeting with at a restaurant, Chloe, played with feminine ferocity by Amanda Seyfried, to seduce her husband to see if he will respond. Clearly complications arise and their turns out to be a deep seeded problem within Chloe that causes chaos. What isn't explained is why. Does she need a mother figure, which is only briefly hinted at, or does she just have an intense sexual connection to Catherine, whom she seduces in a sexy, sensual scene in the movie that made me want to be a lesbian. I am totally lesbi-gay for Amanda and Julianne and proud of it!! Amanda Seyfried gets all that nudity out of the way in this movie too. The movie was, as I said, entertaining, but don't expect to leave with answers, especially from the head-scratching final scene. I would recommend it for the pure joy of watching the actors work, but don't expect closure on this one. Oh, just go see it already.

NEW MUSIC: MARINA & THE DIAMONDS

Marina & the Diamonds is a confusing name. It's really just Marina Diamandis, but on her myspace page she explains she is Marina and her fans are the diamonds. The Welsh singer/songwriter has already released music in her native UK with her debut full length album Family Jewels, but she is now gearing up to come to the States and has released an EP on iTunes called American Jewels which you can find here. Named in EW as one of the up and coming artists to watch at the SXSW Music Festival in Austin, Marina & the Diamonds, desribing her as a "full-throated quirk-pop diva. Her voice is in fact quite unique. She comes off like a punky Sarah McLachlan or Tori Amos at times, but has a much heartier sound coming from her gut than those two ladies making a little closer to Bjork in tone. The music is hard and melodic at the same time with lots of synth and piano and attitude. It's hard to describe or pin down. Songs like Shampain and Oh No! go into dance territory, but not in a poppy way. Most of the album is lyrically intense, i.e. I Am Not a Robot, Hollywood and Obsessions and entirely satisfying both vocally and musically. Her album, Family Jewels, will be released in the States May 25th. Watch her video for her UK single I Am Not a Robot. What do you think?

COURT YARD HOUNDS, TWO OF THE THREE DIXIE CHICKS, UNVEIL NEW SONG

The Dixie Chicks have been one of the top selling artists since they first hit the music scene in the late 90s, and since they have been on a hiatus for a while and Natalie Maines, the lead singer, wasn't ready to come back yet, the remaining Chicks, sisters Martie Maguire and Emily Robinson, decided they would put out an album of music they wanted to release. The Court Yard Hounds, as they call themselves, is a side-project that the ladies say may stick around for a while. Of course, listening to all the harmonies on the DC's albums, it's obvious that Martie and Emily have beautiful voices, and if you go to their website you can hear a preview of their debut self-titled album (out May 4th), but their approach is surprisingly less country than the Dixie Chicks. They recently debuted at the South By Southwest Music Festival in Austin to stellar reviews, and here is a super-intense song, entitled Ain't No Son, that the ladies are previewing about a son who comes out to his father only to be told "you ain't no son to me". The girls have always been a vocal supporter of the LGBT community and it's so brave and amazy that they did a song like this. It's really great. The song is very honest and shows how some parents make their kids coming out so much harder than it has to be. I am very excited about their album from what I have heard on the website. I hope you all get behind this project and support Emily and Martie. They are true artists. Take a listen to Ain't No Son below.

ADAM LAMBERT DOESN'T MIND IF YOU THINK HE'S THE "MALE LADY GAGA"

DUH! Who wouldn't want to be the male Lady Gaga. "We had a couple of whiskeys and traded stories about life and music in the studio," Lambert told the Daily Record of his Gaga encounter.
"She did theater for a while, too, and she got into the club kid scene in New York and I did in LA. We had a similar experience and it's a compliment to be dubbed the male version of her." Taylor Swift, country music sweetheart, has been out and about a lot this week. Swift has been spotted having dinner with Glee star Cory Monteith at a hot spot in Beverly Hills this week, but she also was seen out with her ex, Taylor Lautner. What a hussy!! Ha. Just kidding. She's not exactly Jesse James, is she? I'm sure whoever she is actually seeing there is plenty of no-sex, over the sweater action going on. I am not sure Taylor Swift even has genetalia. GAY STUDENTS SCHOOLMATES PROTEST HIS INCLUSION IN PROM

Really? This kid is so sweet and all he wants is to take his boyfriend to prom. Derrick Martin's school administor's were smart enough to know that every kid should be free to bring a date to prom and approved his request to bring his boyfriend. Probably because Derrick, whose parent recently kicked him out of their house for all the media attention he is getting (shame on you, parents), is a good student and guess what his after school job is..... tutoring at-risk third, fourth, fifth grade students and middle schools students to help them pass the CRCT! How cute is that?? Anyway, now fellow seniors at the Georgia high school are protesting the school's decision to allow Derrick and his boyfriend to come to prom. The recently organized a rally in protest. Amber Duskin (even her name is bitchy), the rally’s organizer, sent text messages to high school students Wednesday getting fellow students to show up and asking her high school to return her prom ticket money. She does not plan to attend because of cute little Derrick. The mean girl says, "I don’t believe in going up there and dancing with gay guys like that. It’s also not just him bringing a boy. It was bringing all this attention to it." Oh, poor naive Amber. You will soon find out that the ONLY places you can dance are full of gay guys. Only a dozen or so students showed up for the rally. Derrick says that he is going to move into an apartment and get ready for college. He has a scholarship to Georgia Southern where he will be majoring in pre-law. Good for you, Derrick. ANN COULTER'S SPEECH IN CANADA CANCELLED DUE TO PROTESTERS

YEA!!!! Here is an example of people with good sense! Ann Coulter, who recently claimed she was the victim of a hate crime because a college official in Ottawa asked her not to be a complete bitch (I'm paraphrasing) while she spoke at their school, has finally been shut up, at least temporarily. Coulter was supposed to speak at at the University of Ottawa on Tuesday, but after 2,000 protesters showed up, the speech was cancelled! Lucky Ottawa!! One of the things that stirred up the students was a comment Coulter made to a Muslim student the day before at The University of Western Ontario telling him to "take a camel" instead of flying. What? Who does this bitch think she is? Coulter made many, many disparaging remarks about the school and Canada in general that I will not even print because I don't have to be fair or unbiased when speaking on a blog about the nastiest, stupidest, most racist, anti-feminist, anti-Semite, homophobe on the planet. This woman is absolutely abhorrent and I can't imagine any words or punishment that would be severe enough for her actions. Ann Coulter is a disgrace to humanity and even the Republican party. POPE KNEW ABOUT SEXUAL ABUSE IN GERMANY

The New York Times has uncovered documentation that regarding the sexual abuse scandal in Germany when Pope Benedict XVI was there. The church released a statement prior saying that the pope knew absolutely nothing of the scandal and placed the blame for allowing a preist who was found to be sexually abusing an 11-year-old boy to return to work with limited therapy. Well, now information has surfaced that the pope was not only apprised of the situtation, but he not only knew, but led the meeting in which decisions were made regarding the preist's transfer. The New York Times reports:
"The future Pope Benedict XVI was kept more closely apprised of a sexual abuse case in Germany than previous church statements have suggested, raising fresh questions about his handling of a scandal unfolding under his direct supervision before he rose to the top of the church’s hierarchy...An initial statement on the matter issued earlier this month by the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising placed full responsibility for the decision to allow the priest to resume his duties on Cardinal Ratzinger’s deputy, the Rev. Gerhard Gruber. But the memo, whose existence was confirmed by two church officials, shows that the future pope not only led a meeting on Jan. 15, 1980, approving the transfer of the priest, but was also kept informed about the priest’s reassignment."

Wow. That is a COMPLETELY different set of facts. In this day and age, when it's so easy to find evidence and documentation, why would the church lie about this? It is shameful. I guess Sinead O'Connor was right. Someone needs to investigate this situation. [source]

Did you just throw up when you read that title? Then we have something in common, m'friend. Heidi Montag, the reason god invented cataracts, has a plan now that The Hills has been cancelled. She is going to start ruining movies! Yea!!! Wait. Boo!!! “I’m so excited The Hills is finally over and I can now become a full time motion picture actress,” Montag tells PEOPLE. She adds, “there is no better training [for an actor] than being in front of the cameras 24-7.” Um, except maybe ACTUAL acting training. MADONNA FRIDAY: I'LL REMEMBER

In 1992/93 Madonna was having her first bout of backlash. Erotica, the album, and SEX, the book, had been too much for some (stupid) people. They felt it was oversexualized for main stream media and harshly criticized Madonna for what they believed she was saying was a true portrayal of her life, even though she explained the projects were about fantasy. After the controversy had died down, Madonna was ready to work again and decided to take a step back and just make a great pop song. Her friend and director of her amazy documentary, Truth or Dare, Alek Keshishian, was directing his feature debut, With Honors, and as a favor Madonna recorded a song for the film titled I'll Remember. The song was a change in direction for Madge, leaving the dance floor sex of Erotica and exploring a thoughtful, beautiful ballad. The song was a commercial and critical success, reaching #2 on the Hot 100 in the Spring of 1994. The video for the song was directed by Keshishian and featured Madonna singing the song in the studio in front of clips from the film With Honors (which starred Brendan Frasier, Joe Pesci, Patrick Dempsey and that girl from The Cutting Edge) and also as a record executive, dressed as a man. Madonna rarely performs the song (if she ever has I don't remember), so it's always a pleasure to hear it. Enjoy the 1994 single I'll Remember.

NEWS FLASH: THERE IS A GOD. MTV CANCELS THE HILLS

Oh, happy day!!! The Hills are dead with the sound of my joy!!! MTV has apparently come to their senses and cancelled the "reality" show (that for some reason employs set designers and a script writer) The Hills. "Creator" Adam DiVello mouth-farts to Entertainment Weekly, "I think we've told the story of struggle and of finding yourself in L.A. A lot of these kids have found themselves and have certainly embarked on different careers and different paths." The "STRUGGLE"? Is he kidding me? These are a bunch of rich, over-entitled brats running around town like they are gods.... or Madonna. MTV recently took a more serious approach to programing with 16 and Pregnant, but made it official they are no longer about music by dropping the "music television" from their logo. Ugh! Heidi has already found another job as an Old Navy Modelquin and Spencer is the new spokesperson for Summers Eve (cuz he's a douch...get it?). The last season starts airing in April.[source]

SINEAD O'CONNOR GETS ALL UP IN THE POPE'S KOOL-AID

... and she KNOWS what the flava is! Did I go to bed and wake up in 1992? Ha. But seriously, Sinead O'Connor and the Catholic church have a long and complicated history. Sinead famously tore up a picture of Pope John Paul II on a 1992 Saturday Night Live appearance in protest over the church's sexual abuse cases , and now she is calling for a full investigation of the Vatican and Pope Benedict XVI over the church's turning a blind eye to the priests molesting children. Sinead says in a statement:

"There should be a full criminal investigation of the Catholic hierarchy of any country in which this has been an issue. There should be a full criminal investigation of the Vatican. There should be a full criminal investigation of the pope. The pope should stand down for the fact that he did not act in a Christian fashion to protect children, and for the fact that his organization acted to preserve their business interests decade after decade rather than be concerned about the interests of children, and for showing so much disrespect for Christ, God, the victims, the rest of us, their own clergy. . . . The Vatican and the pope need to get on their knees and confess the full truth in the same language they make us use in Mass. . . . They need to get on their knees, open everything up, be transparent, tell the truth, ask the people for forgiveness and prayers."

Well, you can't argue with much of what she says. I think it's been proven time and again that the church has not acted to protect the victims of these crimes, often just moving the priests around from one parish to another to avoid controversy. Here it is! Xtina has been away for a while now, but she is gearing up to come back in a big way. Her movie, Burlesque, with Cher has finished filming and her new single, Not Myself Tonight (early 90s Madonna rip-off art work here), will premiere on her webstie on March 30th. Now Xtina reveals the artwork for her upcoming album Bionic. I like it!! It's fun and edgy and Aggy looks great. I can't wait to hear the new material. MEGAN MULLALLY PULLS OUT OF NEW BROADWAY SHOW

Megan Mullally has abruptly pulled out of the upcoming Broadway play Lips Together, Teeth Apart just a weeks before the show is set to open. Though no official statement has been released by the Will & Grace star, Hollywood Deadline is reporting that Mullally (she'll always be Karen to me) was not seeing eye-to-eye with director Joe Mantello. "We were surprised and disappointed that Megan Mullally had to withdraw from the production immediately in breach of her contract. With the loss of Megan in a four-person ensemble, work has been delayed after only two weeks of rehearsal," artistic director of the Roundabout Theatre Company, Todd Haimes, said in a statement released Wednesday. RACHEL MADDOW EXPLAINS THE CHANGES IN DON'T ASK, DON'T TELL

Rachel Maddow talks about some of the changes to Don't Ask, Don't Tell expected to be outlined in an address today by Defense Secretary Robert Gates. These changes could make a difference for the men who have been discharged. While a complete repeal is the best, at least these changes are a step in the right direction. Here is a portion of it:
"Guidelines to be announced Thursday call for testimony from third parties to be given under oath. The discharge of enlisted personnel must be approved by officers who hold a rank equivalent to a one-star general or above, according to military and defense officials familiar with the plan... The goal is to ensure that the law is applied fairly and consistently across the military and that flimsy testimony from third parties is eliminated, the officials said. The plan is considered a stopgap measure until Congress decides whether to repeal the 1993 law...Gay rights groups say the plan to require high-level scrutiny for discharges under 'don't ask, don't tell' is a step in the right direction but add that Congress must still act to lift the ban. 'Service members would still be leaving the services under 'don't ask, don't tell' every day, so what we need is repeal,' said Aubrey Sarvis, executive director, Servicemembers Legal Defense Fund." LADY GAGA JOINS STING'S RAIN FOREST FUND CONCERT

Sting and his wife Trudy Styler have worked tirelessly for years to protect and preserve our rainforests and this year they are drawing some big names to their concert benefit. Sting will perform along with Elton John, Dame Shirley Bassey and the amazy Lady Gaga. Can't wait to see what kind of crazy outfit Gaga will come up with for a rainforest benefit!! The bi-annual event will take place at Carnagie Hall on May 13th. Styler points out that one of the cool things about the event is that artists that you wouldn't expect collaborate together quite often. Styler said, "one of the things about this night. The audience comes expecting to see unusual combinations of singers. Because I've never recorded it, everyone let's their hair down. Has it come to this, Mike Myers? Don't get me wrong, I liked the Austin Powers movies (although Heather Graham did her damnedest to ruin the second one), but I am not sure it's time to revisit the International Man of Mystery. Director Jay Roach, who helmed the first three films, has confirmed he is gearing up for a new installment. Roach says, ""(Mike is) working on ideas for it, people are definitely talking about it and I'm all good for it", before adding the next installment will go 'somewhere you haven't thought of"." FEDERAL JUDGE FINDS THAT LESBIAN TEEN WAS DISCRIMINATED AGAINST

Seems like a no brainer to me, but it took a federal judge's ruling to hammer it home to the morons running Constance McMillen's high school in Mississippi that they were in fact discriminating against the teenage lesbian for not allowing her to attend the prom with her girlfriend. The school instead cancelled the prom and the parents are holding a private dance which McMillen is not invited to. Judge Glen H. Davidson did NOT however say the the school would be obligated to go on with the prom as scheduled with everyone in attendance. "We consider this a victory," said ACLU Mississippi legal director Kristy Bennett. The case will be set for a trial date in the future. Although the main goal was to get Constance to the prom, I think it's more important to push the point that schools cannot do this to students. Each student has the right to attend a school function with their boy/girlfriend just like everyone else. Keep it going, Constance. I'm behind you 100%!!! ANN COULTER CLAIMS TO BE VICTIM OF A HATE CRIME

The same woman who said of the 9/11 widows "I've never seen people enjoying their husbands' deaths so much", called John Edwards a "faggot" and wished he was "killed in a terrorist attack", and has made many bigoted remarks against gays, Jews and even women, is claiming that the University of Ottawa in Canada has committed a hate crime against her. What? Yes. Why? Because her upcoming appearance at their school prompted the Francois Houle, vice-president academic and provost of the University of Ottawa, to send her a letter asking her to keep "'respect and civility in mind" when speaking on their campus. Sounds good to me since Coulter is such a crazy bitch that she says things purely to anger people into buying her books. Coulter told the crowd at her address, "think I’m the victim of a hate crime here. Either what (Mr. Houle) did was a hate crime, or the whole commission is BS." G-R-O-S-S!! This is not even close to a hate crime and Ann Coulter knows it. I hate very few people, but Coulter is one of them. If there is a hell I truly believe that hate-mongers, like this whore, will burn in it forever. I have to qualms about saying that. That being said, Coulter has the right to free speech just like anyone else in the United States. IN THE UNITED STATES!! But Coulter was in Canada, as Mr. Houle explains, "our domestic laws, both provincial and federal, delineate freedom of expression (or ‘free speech’) in a manner that is somewhat different than the approach taken in the United States. I therefore encourage you to educate yourself, if need be, as to what is acceptable in Canada and to do so before your planned visit here. Promoting hatred against any identifiable group would not only be considered inappropriate, but could in fact lead to criminal charges." If anyone should rot in a jail cell for the things that come out of their mouth, Coulter and Rush Limbaugh should be doing 40-life sentences of hard labor.
